I just came accross the shocking news that "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray barb through the chest today while filming an underwater documentary. You either loved or hated the Croc Hunter for his daring approach at wildlife documentaries where he jumped in the line of fire with many different and deadly animals, which makes his death at the barb of a stingray sound outrageous when compared to the poisonous snakes and giant crocs he come up against in the past. If you think this is another internet prank, than just run a Yahoo news search and unfortunately you'll see that the news is true. Even the greats slip up every now and then, and unfortunately for Steve Irwin, it cost him his life this time.
Rest in Peace, Steve. And thanks for all the great nature documentaries and spreading awareness of protecting our native wildlife.
