Old News and New Beginnings

A lot has been going on these past few weeks that I haven't been blogging, starting with a really crappy week to a much anticipated weekend to a rather rushed holiday.

One of the all time greats falls.....HARD.
June 25th, 2007 is a day that will go down in infamy for myself and many fans of pro-wrestler Chris Benoit. It was on that day that Chris along with his wife Nancy and 7-year old son Daniel were all found dead at their home at Fayetteville, Georgia.
Even worse was that after investigating the scene, it was concluded that it was Benoit himself who murdered his wife and son by stranggling before taking his own life by hanging himself with an exercise machine chord!
I can't condone what Benoit did to his family, but unlike many I choose not to turn on him because of his actions. Sure I've met the man personally, and I still rate that experiance as one of the best days of my life, but no one can ever forget all he's done in the ring. That's how most of us came to know him, and that's how many of us should remember him in my opinion.

'Till Death Do Us Part?
July 7th, 2007 aka 777 was the day me and Ling finally tied the knot. Unfortunately things didn't go quite as smooth as I would have liked. Firstly, the priest was an hour late due to the fact that he double booked himself for another wedding ceremony before ours that was all the way on the other part of town! He finally did get there though, and it was all good from there, save for Ling flubbing her lines a bit due to nerves.
With that done, we had a small gathering at our place after, where we had to do the traditional Chinese tea serving ceremony to my parents and family, before heading over to Ling's place to do the same thing with her family. We then checked in at the Park Hotel for our wedding dinner that evening, but the restaurant hadn't booked a room for us! They did manage to settle it, but we ended up in a twin bed room instead of a double bedroom. What the hey, the beds were queen sized at least.
The wedding dinner was all good as well, save for maybe the rather loud music on the PA system, but I just ignored it and enjoyed ourselves that evening.

Navigate for Vacation 2007
Ling and I took out honeymoon trip to Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands. I'd never been to Genting before and was looking forward to it. Unfortunately our whole trip was rather rushed due to the short time we had in between getting to KL, getting to Genting and back again. We didn't spend a full day in either place, and that would have benefited us more if we had more time.
In Genting we spent most of our day there at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum, and we caught a great live show at The Pavillion called Fly. We each lost 20 bucks at the casino there, but then again you can't help but feel ripped off when all the slot machines were five-line electronic machines and not the traditional one-arm bandits you get in Vegas.
The next day we rushed so much that I actually didn't have time to get anything for myself. All my plans went out the door and all I got from this trip was 2 t-shirts, 2 small Gashapons figures and the Rammstein Volkerball CD/DVD set. Not all that bad I guess.

Back To Life
All that brings me back to everyday life where Ling and myself try to adapt to our new lives. And true to form, everything changes after you get married. One thing hasn't changed though: My Job Is Killing Me!
